Amaro Don Carlo has won a host of awards: a Gold Medal in Frankfurt and a Silver Medal in Lyon
Amaro Don Carlo’s collection of awards has been further enhanced by two more prestigious accolades: a Gold Medal at the Frankfurt International Trophy and a Silver Medal at the Concours International de Lyon, in recognition of the quality and care with which this artisanal product from Eboli is crafted by Carlo Gargiulo and Angela Caliendo.
Amaro Don Carlo has been recognised as one of the finest in its category by tasters from all over the world who gather each year in the German city situated in the Hessian wine region and in the capital of French gastronomy to rigorously assess and award prizes to the finest wines, beers, liqueurs and spirits, as well as high-quality cheeses, dairy products and cured meats from various countries.
For the 2025 edition, the Frankfurt International Trophy assessed nearly 3,500 entries from 44 countries (2,350 wine samples, 550 beer samples and 650 spirits samples), whilst the Concours International de Lyon evaluated 10,385 entries from 54 countries. Strict organisational rules are followed to ensure optimal storage conditions, with samples classified according to numerous criteria, blind tastings conducted, and the selected tasters monitored.
Black in colour, with an intense aroma of walnuts and spices and an aromatic flavour, Amaro Don Carlo – made from walnut husks (60%) and a blend of selected herbs and spices – has recently been relaunched with a new label and a reduced sugar content to bring out its full aromatic and flavour potential.
A locally produced artisan product which, thanks to its quality, brings prestige and visibility to our region, ensuring that it is known and appreciated even beyond regional and national borders.
