The artisanal herbal liqueur from Eboli brings the Bocelli Tuscany 2025 dinner at Villa Alpebella to a close
It was Amaro Don Carlo, a traditional herbal liqueur from Eboli, that brought the dinner held on 10 September at Villa Alpebella in Forte dei Marmi to a close, during which Maestro Andrea Bocelli gave a moving private concert. Andrea Bocelli, an icon of the world of opera who flies the flag for Italy across every continent, with a voice capable of touching the soul, provided memories to last a lifetime for the approximately 120 guests in attendance, most of whom were from the United States.
The event forms part of a three-day programme organised and run by Travel Setter, an agency specialising in luxury travel, which has taken American tourists on a journey of discovery to some of the gems of our peninsula, offering high-quality events and experiences alongside hospitality in exclusive venues.
It was an unforgettable evening, characterised by glamour and elegance, enjoyed by these members of the international jet set, who were welcomed by Andrea Bocelli and his wife Veronica Berti at the splendid 15th-century estate, set within extensive grounds and featuring rooms with beautifully decorated ceilings, the hub of Versilian social life in the 1960s and owned by the Bocelli family since 2002, which throughout the year opens its doors to numerous cultural and fashion events and initiatives linked to the charitable work of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.
It was, therefore, a source of great honour and pride for Carlo Gargiulo and his wife Angela Caliendo, managers of Enoteca Gargiulo—founded in 1966 by Carlo’s father Vito in Eboli, in the province of Salerno—and the creators and inventors of Amaro Don Carlo, which brought this dinner at Villa Alpebella to a close.
Black in colour, with an intense aroma of walnuts and spices and an aromatic flavour, Amaro Don Carlo—made with walnut husks (60%) and a blend of selected herbs and spices, all sourced exclusively from Campania—brought a touch of authenticity, craftsmanship and regional character, all of which were significant added values in this prestigious setting.
Bocelli himself, in fact, has on more than one occasion expressed his deep attachment to his homeland and his desire to return there whenever he comes back from one of his many travels around the world, “to the place where life seems simpler and more beautiful to me, beneath the Tuscan sky: here, where I was born and raised surrounded by nature, amidst the sounds and scents of the open countryside”.
A unique opportunity, then, for Amaro Don Carlo to express the strength of its roots, the tenacity of its passion and the breadth of its vision – the three guiding principles that encapsulate its past, present and future, resonating in harmony with the emotions and values translated into music by one of the world’s greatest tenors.
