Another key event for Amaro Don Carlo<\/strong> in its annual calendar, which sees it take centre stage at the sector\u2019s most important events: from 22 to 24 February<\/strong>, the herbal liqueur from Eboli, created by Carlo Gargiulo and Angela Caliendo, will be on display in Bologna for the sixth edition of the Fiera dell\u2019Amaro d\u2019Italia e Spirits<\/strong>, the first national event entirely dedicated to the culture, tasting and identity of amaro and its producers.<\/p>\n\n

This event, launched in 2019, was conceived by Amaroteca, an organisation dedicated to promoting and celebrating the culture of Italian amaro, and by the Associazione Nazionale Amaro d\u2019Italia<\/strong>, which focuses on the world of amaro and spirits. Since 2023, it has been held as part of the Slow Wine Fair 2026,<\/strong> an international event centred on wine that is \u201cgood, clean and fair\u201d, the result of sustainable viticulture that respects biodiversity and the landscape, aimed at promoting the development of rural communities and raising consumers\u2019 awareness of the cultural value of wine. At the tasting tables, wines from over 1,000 exhibiting wineries, from Italy and abroad, selected by a panel of experts. <\/p>\n\n

At BolognaFiere<\/strong>, visitors will be able to sample this artisanal liqueur, created in 1994 thanks to the vision and passion of Angela Caliendo<\/strong> and Carlo Gargiulo<\/strong>. Made from walnut husks (60%) and a blend of selected herbs and spices, all sourced exclusively from Campania, it is an elegant and refined after-dinner liqueur, a meditative drink and a valuable ally in mixology and in the kitchen for the preparation of fine dining dishes, to which it lends refined aromatic notes and depth of flavour. <\/p>\n\n

Amaro Don Carlo\u2019s journey has been marked by a string of national and international awards that speak to its quality, identity and ability to raise the profile of the region beyond the borders of the Italian peninsula; a path of sacrifice and dedication that has been met with positive feedback and acclaim from both consumers and the press, including its inclusion among the eight labels to try, as recommended by *Corriere della Sera* to mark World Amaro Day.<\/p>\n\n

Other artisanal liqueurs from Gargiulo Coloniali on display at the fair will include Amaro Don Carlo Chocolate<\/strong>, a version of Amaro Don Carlo made by adding fine cocoa and milk to the amaro base rather than to the alcohol base (15% ABV), and Donna Rosalba<\/strong>, an amaro made by infusing rocket from the Piana del Sele PGI region.<\/p>\n\n

The centrepiece of the spirits area is the Mixology Lab<\/strong> (Hall 15): in this showcase, exhibitors will explain the production methods and characteristics of their spirits (such as organic fertilisation and the use of local ingredients from sustainable farms and environmentally friendly pest control products), whilst professional bartenders will showcase them through original cocktails for the public to sample.<\/p>\n\n

There is also a special category for bitters in the Premio Spirito Slow <\/strong>awards, which will be presented to the venue that stands out for having the best selection on its menu.<\/p>\n\n

Another highlight of this three-day AmarOff<\/strong> event is a series of evening sessions at participating venues, where the amaro and spirits producers attending the Slow Wine Fair will host engaging talks on their products, giving the public the chance to discover the stories, regions and styles behind one of the most authentic symbols of Italy\u2019s liqueur-making tradition.<\/p>\n\n

Furthermore, exhibitors of amaro will be invited to take part in a competition<\/strong> to determine \u2018the perfect glass for amaro<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n
