The Municipality of Eboli honours Carlo Gargiulo and Angela Caliendo
They are putting Eboli on the map thanks to Amaro Don Carlo
Yesterday, Carlo Gargiulo and his wife Angela Caliendo of Enoteca Gargiulo in Eboli were presented with an award by the local council in recognition of their achievements in promoting the name of Eboli beyond its borders through Amaro Don Carlo.
It is a local artisan product of the highest quality; indeed, Amaro Don Carlo has brought prestige and recognition to the region, ensuring that it is known and appreciated even beyond regional and national borders thanks to the many prestigious awards it has won, many of which have been at international events.
Black in colour, with an intense aroma of walnuts and spices and an aromatic flavour, Amaro Don Carlo – made from walnut husks (60%) and a blend of selected herbs and spices – has recently been relaunched with a reduced sugar content, which has further enhanced its aromatic and flavour profile.
Another new feature is the evolution of the label, the result of a collaboration between graphic designer Mario Cavallaro and illustrator Valentina Grilli, which incorporates three visual elements: the Steam Engine, representing the past of Carmelina and Vito, parents of Carlo Gargiulo and founders of the Enoteca; the Bicycle, representing the present of Carlo and Angela, who carry on the family business; and the Hot-Air Balloon, representing the future of Antonio and Rosario, sons of Carlo and Angela, to whom we wish every success in spreading their wings and following the path they choose, whatever that may be, provided it is lived with passion.
